Albany Kidnapper Sentenced to Life

jailJermaine Harrison, 26, has been sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping and severely beating a man during a drug deal.

Harrison was convicted of kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.

Harrison was on house arrest at the time of the incident. Prosecutors say he disabled his ankle monitor, kidnapped James Wheeler III, and beat him. Wheeler is still in a coma from the March 2012 beating.

A co-defendant, Rashard Peterson, is still awaiting trial. Harrison will not be eligible for parole for 30-years.
