MOULTRIE — Traffic traveling in both directions has been restricted on U.S. 319.

The shift will result in a single open lane on the northbound side and a single open lane on the southbound side. The traffic shift is required to continue work that includes lowering the road to improve the line of sight for motorists, widening lanes and installing a turn lane.

It is part of a 22-mile Georgia DOT project to improve U.S. 319 from northeast of Moultrie to the intersection of U.S. 82/state Route 520 in Tifton. The lane restrictions go into effect at 3 p.m. Friday.
