Valdosta Today - BravesA rare 5-game set between the Braves and Mets wrapped up on Thursday with the visitors from New York taking the series 3 games to 2. After Mets starter Jonathon Niese left the game in the 3rd due to a shoulder issue, the New York bullpen effectively shut down the Braves’ offense for the remaining innings.

After racking up 8 hits and 3 runs in the first 3 innings against Niese, the bats went silent. The Mets bullpen, ranked second to last in the NL, held the Braves to no runs and just five hits for the rest of the game.

Mike Minor (8-3) picked up the loss, giving up 4 ER in 7 innings.
