GBI Press Release:

Thomas County, GA (July 10, 2018) – The GBI, Thomasville Police Department, and Thomas County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the disappearance of Deanna Shirey from her Thomasville residence. Police are asking for the assistance of Thomas County residents, businesses, and/or visitors to aid in the search for the below specific items in the below stated date/time range:

Date/time range of requested information, sightings, surveillance system review:

Sunday, July 1, 7:00 pm thru Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 8:00 am

Search all property, access to property, and bodies of water for any sign of Deanna Shirey.

Review any home surveillance systems, animal/trail cameras for any photos of Deanna Shirey, Robert Carter, II, his known associated vehicle (listed below) or the red Honda CRV SUV that belongs to Deanna Shirey recovered last week in Tallahassee, FL (see photo)

Of particular attention would be any route(s) from Thomasville to Tallahassee, but not to exclude any other routes through Thomas County.

Known vehicle of Robert Carter, II – white Ford F-250 Pickup / Georgia license plate RCI 5853

A comforter with this pattern is believed to be missing from Shirey’s residence (see photo)

GBI Conducts Investigation into Missing Person

Thomas County, GA (July 6, 2018) – On Tuesday, July 3, 2018 the GBI was requested by the Thomasville Police Department to assist with a missing person case. The missing woman was identified as 70 year old Deanna Shirey. Shirey was reported missing by family members on Monday, July 2, 2018. With the assistance of Tallahassee Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Shirey’s vehicle was located in Tallahassee, FL, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Shirey’s location is still unknown at this time.

On Friday, July 6, 2018, a joint effort involving the GBI, Thomasville Police Department, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Moultrie Police Department, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, Grady County Sheriff’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies will be conducting searches in areas of investigative interest, in Thomasville, and Thomas County, and Georgia.

This case is active and ongoing.
