Man arrested after barricading himself, cashier in gas station

THOMASVILLE – A man in Thomasville is behind bars following a bizarre sequence of events on Wednesday.

Desmond Bowdy was charged with false imprisonment after officers reportedly saw him run into a road, jump on the hood of a passing car, and then barricade himself inside a gas station while holding the store clerk captive, according to reports.

The store clerk eventually got away, and Bowdy was taken into custody.
