New Valdosta High School on track for July 2018 move

VALDOSTA – Stormy weather isn’t stopping the progress of a multi-million dollar school in South Georgia.

JCI Parrish Construction says the new Valdosta High School on Inner Perimeter Road is still on track.

The move in date is set for the end of next July.

This time last year, people could only see the frame of the building.

It’s now transformed from the inside-out and embellished in ‘wildcat yellow’.

“There’s so much effort that goes into this in the last couple of years and there’s still another large amount of effort over the next year,” says Travis Miller, Senior Project Manager. “It’s just fantastic to see the folks that are using the building, the smiles on their faces, and the excitement that they have.”

Wednesday, several administrators and staff toured the campus and their new offices for the first time.

The new school features include state-of-the-art labs and even a cosmetology station.

The current Valdosta High is more than 40 years old.
