VALDOSTA – A Valdosta man was reportedly robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday morning while sitting on his front porch, but investigators have their doubts, according to Valdosta Police Department incident reports.

At 4:52 a.m., VPD officers responded to a residence on Harmony Way after receiving a report of an armed robbery, reports stated.

A 44-year-old man reportedly told police he was sitting on the front porch of his house when he was robbed at gun point. The man said $407 was stolen, reports stated.

However, investigators reportedly have found no evidence to support the man’s claims and believe the incident to be drug related, said VPD Lt. Adam Bembry.

Another man was at the home at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported.

No other details have been released about the incident, which is currently under investigation. Valdosta Today will report on additional details as they become available.
