VALDOSTA – Valdosta’s downtown historic district continues to grow, after a local law firm invests $5 million to relocate.

On Friday, Coleman Talley hosted a ground breaking ceremony to celebrate their renovations to the Southern Salvage building at 109 & 111 South Ashley Street.

They say they’re happy to be back, after originally starting the firm downtown in 1937.

“It feels wonderful. It took almost over a year to get to this point, as far as acquiring the property, getting all the permitting, designs, and approvals by the state historic commission. We feel great being here,” says Tom Kurrie, Coleman Talley Partner.

The design was selected to fit comfortably with neighboring historic buildings.

The City of Valdosta says it’s the second largest private investment downtown.

They say it should be finished by this year.
