THOMASVILLE – The Thomasville community is preparing for its 96th annual Rose Show and Festival.

Tuesday, the tent for the Rose Show was being set up downtown.

That section of Remington Avenue at Broad Street is now blocked off.

A list of festivities will kick-off on Thursday, including live entertainment, car shows, and parades.

Tuesday afternoon, students at Thomas University were working hard on their float for Friday’s Rose Parade.

“It’s great to see it come full circle,” says Courtney Rosa, working on the float. “To see it in the parade with everyone on it, and then to see everybody just enjoy the parade in Thomasville itself.”

This year’s theme for the parade is locally-grown heroes.

TU says their float is named ‘Educating Local Heroes.’

They’ve selected several alumni as their heroes to ride the float in the parade.
