Project Homeless Connect Scheduled for May

| April 18, 2017

VALDOSTA – Lowndes Associated Ministries to People, Inc. (LAMP) is hosting its annual Project Homeless Connect.  This annual project is an opportunity for un-sheltered homeless community to receive resources.

Lunch will be provided, backpacks filled with non perishable goods, hygiene products, blankets will be given to each individual.  Free haircuts and free HIV testing will be available on site.  Free blood pressure screenings will also be available. Local organizations including housing agencies will be on-site to answer questions and provide individuals with housing resources.

Project Homeless Connect will be held at Saunders Memorial Park on May 4th from 10 am to 2pm.  Transportation will be provided from designated locations.  For more information, contact Mrs. Gayle Moreen at 245-7157 ext 214.

LAMP serves nine surrounding counties and is the only homeless shelter in those areas that serve single men, single women and families with children.  In 1984, a small group of individuals, churches, and the synagogue in Lowndes County, Georgia, formed Lowndes Associated Ministries to People (LAMP) as a clearinghouse that would monitor and steward the distribution of local assistance dollars. Over the years, LAMP has become more than just a clearinghouse, it is now Lowndes County and the surrounding area’s local mission for the homeless. LAMP is funded through grant money as well as private donations from the community.

To make a monetary contribution to the shelter for the winter months, visit and donate online or visit the shelter located at 714 Charlton Street in Valdosta, GA.
