Dewar Elementary student advances to state writing competition

LOWNDES Co. – Madison Newman, student at Dewar Elementary School, will have her story,  “Me and My Feet,” submitted at the state level for the 2017 Young Georgia Author’s Writing Competition.

Madison has already won this competition in the third grade division for Coastal Plains RESA. The purpose of the Young Georgia Authors (YGA) writing competition is to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes, and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics.
