Valdosta police searching for two men in stolen car “hit and run”

VALDOSTA – Investigators with the Valdosta Police Department are searching for two suspects who reportedly fled from officers Sunday morning in a stolen car, crashed and managed to avoid apprehension on foot.

At approximately 10:16 a.m., VPD units attempted to stop a reported stolen vehicle in the 600 block of Force Street, according to VPD incident reports.

The vehicle fled the stop location and later crashed into a utility pole. The driver and passenger fled the scene and evaded apprehension, reports stated.

The men also had a weapon in the car that did not belong to them, said VPD Lt. Adam Bembry.
