| March 28, 2017

LANIER C0. – Resurfacing projects on state routes in Berrien and Lanier counties are scheduled to begin Wednesday as the Georgia Department of Transportation continues to tackle deferred road maintenance.

The contractor will work on the two projects simultaneously because the routes join in Ray City. They are:

  • Eight miles on state Route 37 from the Cook County line to SR 125. The construction cost is $1.44 million.
  • Ten miles on U.S. 129/SR 11 from east of the Alapaha River in Lakeland to SR 125. The construction cost is $1.98 million.

Motorists should prepare for traffic delays. Please slow down when you approach the work zones and pay attention to the directions of the flaggers.

Both projects should be complete by Nov. 30. The contractor is Reames and Son Construction Co. Inc. of Valdosta.
