EATONTON, Ga. – Blazer golf used their best round of the tournament on Tuesday to finish 12th at the Bobcat Invitational at the Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee in Eatonton, Ga.

Valdosta State capitalized on a strong final round by Davis Roche, who shot an even par 70 on Tuesday to jump into a tie for 17th place out of 90 participants. Roche’s solid finish led to an individual score of 11-over 221 at the end of the two day tournament.

Matt Anderson added his best round of the three-round competition with a 3-over 73 in the final round, which gave him a final score of 16-over 226 upon the tournament’s conclusion. Remaining scores for the Blazers included Eli Hendricks at 21-over 231 and Jake Harpe, who finished 24-over 234.

Lynn scored the tournament win for the second straight season, while West Florida’s Chandler Blanchett followed last week’s Southeastern Collegiate win in Valdosta with another individual trophy as the tournament winner. Blanchett scored the victory after shooting par on hole No. 1 to claim tie-breaker win.

Valdosta State returns to action on April 3rd to compete in Pensacola, Fla. at The Argonaut Cup, hosted by West Florida.
