Valdosta City School Nutrition Program receives Best Practice Award

| November 15, 2016

VALDOSTA – During the annual kick off luncheon for all school districts statewide in October, Valdosta City Schools Nutrition Program was awarded The Best Practice Award for our efforts in maintaining a computer lab and having training tools readily available to all staff.

From September 2015 through February 2016, Valdosta City Schools Nutrition Program found a unique way to implement staff training.  A training computer lab was set up in the central nutrition office. All employees were encouraged to use this lab for training at any time during the day and all throughout the year. The central location of the lab provided instant and individual assistance for nutrition office personnel, as well with providing easy access for our staff. Managers, kitchen staff, new employees, and substitutes have all benefited from this new training resource.
