South Georgia Golf Promotions to conduct summit and membership drive Wednesday

Keeping with a Vision Statement of A Golf Organization that promotes the game of golf and player camaraderie through Memberships and Competitions that provide enjoyment and allows golfers to compete equally and fairly based on handicaps and skills, on quality golf courses at a price they expect to pay while supporting local communities, golf courses, businesses and charities.

The organizational goal is to improve communication and public awareness that the SGGP is an active organization in the community and provides alternative memberships available through South Georgia Golf Promotions allowing them to continue playing the game of golf. Based on their feedback we want to provide them a quality pay as you play membership that will meet and accommodate their expectations, budgets schedules, costs, quality of courses, and competitions.

Annual membership is $60.00 with a reciprocal membership to USA Golf Promotions and The Hoot-Owl Amateur Tour. A special offer of $50.00 is available to Golfers who join up from November 9 through December 31 2016. There is no initiation fee, monthly dues, food and beverage charges or year-end assessment fees.

It is a pay as you play membership open to male and female golfers twenty one years old and older. As a member you will receive either a SGGP, USA Golf Promotions or Hoot Owl Amateur Tour Golf Shirt, USA Golf hat, Titleist Golf Balls and yearly subscription to Golf Magazine and South Georgia Golfer. Over 200 competitions consisting of 9 holes, 18 holes or 36 holes with flexible tee-times based on golfer’s schedules are conducted on week days and weekends locally. 3 days 2 nights’ getaways are scheduled for Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Golfers who join will be entered into a drawing for a Georgia State Park Golf Pass for 2017 to three State Park Golf Courses managed by Coral Hospitality. One year South Georgia Golf Promotions Membership twelve paid entry fees to Hoot-Owl Amateur Tour Events

  • Savings totaling up to $2,000.00 annually compared to traditional club memberships.
  • Competitions that are organized and conducted with entry deadlines, flights based on handicap and age allowing players to play within their flight and handicap. Registration is required and entry-fees must be paid in advance to eliminate the collection of fees and making pairings the day of an event.
  • Tee-times and tee assignments are assigned by flights, players age and handicap to maintain pace of play of 4 ½ hours.
  • 19th hole and monthly socials at local restaurants, sport bars and hotels.
  • Over 200 events conducted at local golf courses on weekdays and weekends and throughout Georgia and Florida consisting of 9, 18 or 36 hole competitions.
  • Flexible competitions that allow golfers to play for the love of the game and enjoyment or competitions that provide enjoyment and the opportunity to compete fairly in a competitive environment consisting of optional entry-fees, skins game, closest to pin contests, charity 50/50 drawings 19th hole and social gatherings.


  • Continue to promote the game of golf as a sport that can be played throughout your lifetime and into retirement in an outside environment providing exercise with a minimal strain.
  • Membership is fun, casual and competitive where camaraderie between players is encouraged on the golf course and at social events. As we get older we need to maintain a base of golf friends.
  • Continue to negotiate group rates at quality golf courses at a price members would expect to pay and flexible tee-times based on golfer’s schedules.
  • Improve pace of play by playing ready golf, proper use of golf cart, proper pairings, tee assignments and maximum stroke rules.
  • Eliminate the game and organization becoming stale from playing the same course. Maintain social networking with all members regarding upcoming events, schedules, and results.
    Develop a bucket list of personal golf goals for members, be it to play a special golf course or shooting a specific score.
