Shop with a Cop

VALDOSTA – The Valdosta Police Department is requesting donations for the 12th Annual Shop with a Cop event, scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2016 beginning at 7:00pm and ending at 9:30pm.

The purpose of this program is to hopefully brighten the holiday season for some of our local children who received little or nothing for Christmas.

The qualifications are: the children must live in Lowndes County; children must be between the ages of 4-11 years old; must be referred to the program by a law enforcement officer, teacher or school administrator; and for children who have not been previously selected for this program.

Each child selected receives a dollar amount to make purchases at the Super Walmart located at 3274 Inner Perimeter Road. The children selected will also be treated to a pizza party after they finish shopping.

Most of the children selected in past years have been victims of crime, children who were bullied or children whose grades and attitude had improved significantly which resulted in their being selected for this event.

If you are interested in donating or assisting in any capacity, please feel free to contact me.
