Tim Kaine returning to Tallahassee in push for battleground states

| October 25, 2016

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Vice Presidential candidate Tim Kaine is planning a return visit to Tallahassee Friday.

The Hillary Clinton campaign announced the visit Monday morning and said he’ll be at a public event discussing Clinton’s economic plans.

A location and time has not yet been announced, but according to the event’s RSVP website, it will be during the afternoon.

Kaine’s trip to Tallahassee comes on the heels of a Donald Trump rally, slated for Tuesday. Trump’s planned visit is the only visit by one of the presidential candidates themselves to Tallahassee this campaign season.

It’s Kaine’s second visit to Tallahassee this year. He visited the startup-centric Domi Station and spoke at Florida A&M University event during a late August visit.

The Trump and Clinton campaigns are hitting the battleground states hard. Trump and running-mate Mike Pence are visiting Florida, North Carolina and Ohio this week. Kaine’s other stops in Florida this week include Gainesville, Miami, Palm Beach, and Sarasota.

Clinton currently carries a three-point lead over Trump in Florida according to a recent CBS News poll, but the lead did fall within the poll’s margin of error.

Interested attendees can RSVP to Kaine’s event at the Hillary Clinton website.
