Elderly Lake Park woman falls victim to scammers

LAKE PARK – Police have issued a warning to south Georgia residents after scammers swindled an elderly woman out of hundreds of dollars.

Lake Park Police Chief James Breletic said scammers target the elderly often. The scams range from promises of lottery winnings to threats of arrest if payments are not transferred to the scammers.

A woman in Lake Park was tricked into thinking she won the lottery and a new car and lost more than $700 dollars.
