Christian Brothers Takes Down VSU Volleyball, 3-0

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Valdosta State volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-22) sweep at the hands of the Lady Bucs of Christian Brothers in Gulf South Conference action on Saturday afternoon in Memphis, Tenn.

With the loss, the Blazers fell to 5-10 overall and 3-5 in GSC play, while Christian Brothers improved to 8-5 on the season and 4-4 against conference opponents.

The Lady Bucs would not be denied offensively and posted a .333 hitting percentage as a team in the match. The performance was highlighted by a second set that featured a .458 hitting effort with 14 kills and just three errors in 24 attempts.

Emma Lenoir and Brinsley Cooper were the leading contributors for CBU with 25 kills against just five errors. Meanwhile, VSU’s Susanna Peonia once again reached double-digit figures in the kill column with 10.

Valdosta State returns to The Complex on Friday, October 7, at 7:00 p.m. to face North Alabama.
