VSU Soccer Suffers 3-0 Non-Conference Loss to Armstrong State

| September 12, 2016

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – A pesky Armstrong State defense prevented the Valdosta State soccer team from executing offensively, resulting in a 3-0 loss for the Blazers in a neutral non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon at the Bobcat Shootout in Milledgeville, Ga.

Blazer keeper Alyssa Curtis nearly matched Thursday’s record-setting single-game save total in the contest, rejecting 13 of ASU’s 35 attempts in the game. The Pirates were able to connect once in the first half and twice in the second, however, to finish the final day of the tournament with their second win of the season.

The Pirates improved to 2-1 on the year following Sunday’s victory, while the Blazers fell to 0-3-1 on season.

Valdosta State now turns the page to their first Gulf South Conference matchup of the season, which is slated for an 8:00 p.m. EST start vs. Alabama-Huntsville on September 16th. The match will be played in Huntsville, Ala., and live coverage will be available right here at www.vstateblazers.com.
