VHS Announces Homecoming 2016 Theme and Requests Parade Entries

VALDOSTA – Valdosta High School has chosen the theme for Homecoming 2016, “There’s No Place Like Homecoming,” similar to the classic, Wizard of Oz. Homecoming Week begins on Monday, October 3 and will run through Friday, October 7.

Students are encouraged to participate in the dress up opportunities for the week. The daily themes are as follow:

Monday, October 3: Oz the Great and Powerful – Wear green and bling!
Tuesday, October 4: Twister Tuesday – Wacky Day
Wednesday, October 5: Which Witch is Which – Twin Day
Thursday, October 6: Lions & Tigers & Bears…OH MY! Dress like an animal!
Friday, October 7: There’s a STORMCOMING – Spirit Day

On Friday, October 7, VHS will host the annual Homecoming Parade. Line up begins at 2:30 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium. The parade will officially begin at 3:30 pm and travel north up Patterson Street ending at Valdosta Middle School. VHS is now accepting parade entries. Groups must represent the school system or be a local, community organization such as a church, daycare, or social organization. Deadline for entry is Friday, September 30.
