VCS introduces parent mentor

VALDOSTA – Valdosta City Schools has introduced a parent mentor to assist families of children with disabilities.

Valdosta City Schools’ Special Education department now has a parent mentor, Ms. Contina Smith. The purpose of a parent mentor is to enhance communication and collaboration between families, educators, and the community, ultimately leading to greater success for students with disabilities and increased family engagement.
