Police arrest Valdosta snatching suspect

VALDOSTA – A Valdosta man has been arrested and charged in connection with taking money from a store cash register early Wednesday morning.

Theodore Reid, 51, was taken into custody on his outstanding arrest warrant for robbery by sudden snatching by members of the Valdosta Police Department. He is currently being held at the Lowndes County Jail.

VALDOSTA – The Valdosta Police Department is asking the public’s help in finding a man who allegedly grabbed money from a store cash register and fled on foot early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., a man entered the A.B. Foods at 607. East Hill Avenue and selected an item for purchase, according to VPD Capt. Kari Williams.

While at the counter, the male gave the clerk money as though he was going to pay for the item. As the clerk was making change, the male reached over the counter and grabbed money from the register and fled the scene on foot,” Williams said.

No one was injured during the incident, and detectives with the Person’s Crime Unit investigated the case.

An Arrest Warrant was obtained for Theodore Reid, 51, for Robbery By Sudden Snatching (Felony).

Anyone who knows Reid’s whereabouts is asked to contact 911.
