Packers’ second half surge puts them past Valdosta

| September 24, 2016

VALDOSTA – Colquitt County High School dominated the last quarter and a half to beat Valdosta High School, 45-24.

The first quarter and a half was a defensive battle. Colquitt led 6-0 before the offense of both schools took over. With just under eight minutes left in the first half, Valdosta and Colquitt scored a touchdown to end the half with Colquitt leading 13-10.

Valdosta scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to take a 24-13 lead over Colquitt.

After those Valdosta scores, it was a different story. Colquitt’s offense was balanced with a rushing and a passing touchdown to end the third quarter.
The fourth quarter was something that Colquitt was lacking this season, as they had rushing, passing and a defensive touchdown all in one quarter.
Valdosta has next week off and starts region play the week after against Northside Warner Robins.
