Lowndes Schools present September GREAT Awards

VALDOSTA – At the September meeting of the Lowndes County Board of Education, student Victoria Strickland and employee Arthur Williams were named as the GREAT award winners.

GREAT is an acronym for Gratitude, Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Attitude, and Teamwork and represents a monthly award recognizing outstanding achievement of Lowndes County Schools’ students and employees. Honorees are recognized by the Board of Education and given a gift certificate from the Lowndes Education Improvement Foundation (LEIF). Students are nominated by teachers and administrators from the school hosting the month’s work session. Employees are nominated by their colleagues by categories designated each month.

Victoria Strickland is a fifth grade student at Clyattville Elementary School. She is described by her teacher as a great classmate and role model with a big heart. Arthur Williams, Central Office Custodian, was nominated by numerous coworkers and is described as accommodating, joyful, and an asset to Lowndes County Schools.
