Lowndes officials issue warning concerning out-of-town clean-up contractors

LOWNDES Co. – Lowndes County officials have issued a warning to residents concerning out-of-town contractors who have come into the area chargning inflated prices for tree and debris removal in the aftermath of Hurricane Hermine.

Lowndes County officials have released the following statement:

Several complaints regarding out of town contractors charging inflated prices for tree and debris removal have been received. Citizens are encouraged to verify estimates and make sure contractors are licensed, bonded, and have any required insurance. The use of non-licensed contractors is not recommended. Citizens can report suspicious activity to local law enforcement, or by calling the non-emergency number at 911, 229-245-5270.
