VALDOSTA – Jury selection for the murder trial of Ricky Barron III is set to begin Monday morning.

Barron and Andreah Mitchell were indicted for the October 2014 shooting death of Timothy Linder, 40.

Linder was shot in what Valdosta Police Chief Brian Childress described as a “robbery gone bad.” He was at his home in the 1700 block of Marion Street when he was approached by Barron and two other people with the intent to rob him, Childress said.

Barron was 16-years-old at the time of his arrest.

Barron was indicted for felony murder, armed robbery and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to court documents.

Mitchell, who allegedly drove Barron to Linder’s house, was indicted for the same charges: felony murder, armed robbery and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to court documents.

The third person, Angel Clark, was indicted for armed robbery and tampering with evidence in connection with the shooting.
