Lake Park man dies in Echols County crash

On 8/6/2016 at approximately 0845 hours, TFC Hawk Parrish responded to a single vehicle collision on GA 135 approximately two miles north of GA 94 in Echols County.

A 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by 28 year old Kendrick Demetrius Spencer of Lake Park, GA was traveling south on GA 135 attempting to negotiate a curve. The vehicle traveled off the east shoulder of the roadway and struck a dirt embankment with the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle then overturned into a ditch and came to a final rest off the east shoulder of the roadway on its top. The vehicle was partially submerged in the water filled ditch.

Mr. Spencer was pronounced deceased on scene. Mr. Spencer was restrained and airbags did deploy in the vehicle. Troopers suspect alcohol to be a contributing factor in this collision but will be pending a toxicology report. Next of kin has been notified.
