VALDOSTA – Dozens of passengers in Valdosta experienced delayed flights on Monday.

Thousands of flights across the country were delayed on Monday, after experiencing a system-wide loss of power through Delta Air Lines.

In Valdosta, the first and last flight experienced delays up to an hour.

The airport has 6 arrivals and departures each day, all which are flights to Atlanta through Delta.

“We’re hoping that our passengers that fly out of here have good connection luck in Atlanta with their connecting flights,” says Jim Galloway, Executive Director and Airport Manager in Valdosta. “They still have a lot of connection options, so I don’t think it’s going to be a problem for the majority of our folks.”

Many of the issues in Valdosta were at check-in, due to the outage.

Officials say the delays due to computer communication will hopefully be solved by the end of the day.

They also say any issues on delays should be reported to the airline, not the airport.
