Art Cares Event Calling All Local Artist to Support LAMP, Inc.

VALDOSTA- The Valdosta Mall in cooperation with Lowndes Associated Ministries to People, Inc. (LAMP) and merchants are hosting an inaugural Art Cares Charity event on Thursday, September 29th from 5-9 pm

LAMP, is a 501 C 3 nonprofit organization that assist in providing a hand up, not a hand out to 9 surrounding counties homeless population.  The event is open to anyone willing to share their art with the community and artist are encouraged to donate a percentage of their earnings at the event to LAMP.  This event is free to artist and customers.

The goal of this event is to spark interest in the arts community in and around the Valdosta area and bringing attention to homelessness.  Local artist will be partnered with mall merchants who will feature the artist inside their store. Prospective artists are invited to demonstrate their art.  LAMP was founded in 1984 by a small group of individuals, churches and the synagogue in Lowndes County as a clearing house that would monitor and steward the distribution of local assistance dollars.  Over the years, LAMP has become more than just a clearinghouse, it is now Lowndes County and the surrounding area’s local mission for the homeless.  LAMP is funded through grants as well as private donations from the community.  To participate as an artist in this inaugural event (Community, College/University and or High School artists), contact Valdosta Mall Assistant General Manager, Enid Santana at 229-242-0457 or LAMP Development Director, Sharah Denton at; 229-245-1757.
