Shot Valdosta cop honored for 10 years of service

VALDOSTA — The Valdosta police officer who was shot in the line of duty nearly three weeks ago was honored for 10 years of service this week during the Valdosta Police Department’s annual promotion and retirement ceremony.

Randall Hancock was shot while responding to a call in Three Oaks apartment complex.

Hancock received a standing ovation from the audience for his commitment to the community through ten years of service. Many of the other people awarded used their speeches to recognize the heroism Hancock demonstrated throughout the situation.
