Moody plane drops inert bomb near Du Pont

During a routine training mission, an A-10C Thunderbolt II assigned to the 23d Fighter Group inadvertently dropped a BDU 33, a 25-pound inert bomb, Friday at approximately 9:45 a.m.

Base and civilian first responders have secured the scene which is located 33 miles east of Moody Air Force Base, Ga. near the vicinity of Du Pont, Ga.

No injuries or damages have been reported at this time. The incident is still currently under investigation.
