HAHIRA – The Hahira Merchants Association just wrapped its first ever Hahira Independence Day celebration and is looking forward to more events highlighting downtown Hahira.

The Hahira Merchants Association (HMA) is a group of business owners who meet twice a month and coordinate with the City of Hahira administrators, the Hahira City Council, the Hahira Police Department and other community organizations to promote economic development, special events, promotions and community awareness.

HMA has successfully promoted a number of events in their first year, including an Easter Festival, Springfest, a Father’s Day Car Show,  a Fall Festival, and Christmas events.

HMA hosts “Movie Night Under the Stars” in the summer and fall months and several open house events downtown.

“We are blessed to have many merchants that work tirelessly to ensure Hahira has numerous events throughout the year they would be proud to attend,” said Vicki Rountree, president of Hahira Merchants Association and owner of Monkey Britches Boutique.

Other areas of the HMA purview may include, but not limited to, advertising, media relations, and city beautification projects.
