| July 26, 2016

VALDOSTA – D.O.V.E. Christian Mentoring for Teen Girls, Inc. (Daughters of Virtue and Excellence), a faith-based nonprofit organization, has opened the doors of its home office as a member of Entrepreneurs of Valdosta at 2601 Bemiss Road, Suite K-1, Valdosta, Georgia.

This was an emotional and glorious occasion filled with love, thanksgiving and hope.

In 2013, Daughters of Virtue and Excellence (D.O.V.E. Inc.) was conceptualized and developed by a Thomas County native, Ms. Tijuana Scott. Ms. Scott, who defied all odds and now holds a Master’s in Education, allowed her pain, scars and struggles from her childhood as a young girl to create a faith- based safe haven where young girls could grow, thrive, succeed and become successful , educated and trail blazing women. Ms. Scott relies on her faith, board of directors, corporate officers, advisory board, friends, family, volunteers and God’s favor. She believes with God all things are possible.

The D.O.V.E. Inc. program is centered around its mission which is to offer programs in an environment that encourages respect, creativity, and the love of God; promotes spiritual growth, healthy lifestyles and college readiness while developing Christian Character, self-esteem and life skills which enables each teen girl to give back to her community and become a successful educated woman. D.O.V.E. Inc. participants are broken down by the following age categories: Jr. DOVEs (ages 9-12), DOVE Girl (ages 13-17) and Patriotic & Collegiate DOVEs (ages 18-19). The program provides structured classes, workshops and one on one counseling centered around community service, life skills, spiritual growth, college readiness and health & wellness which are the D.O.V.E.’s five programmatic trusts components. Since inception, D.O.V.E. has realized its purpose by having 100% of eligible participants to complete their high school education and go on to college, the armed forces or full-time employment.
