A Valdosta man, the victim of shooting incident on east Jane Street has died as the result of injuries sustained; he was wounded multiple times. The victim was discovered inside his residence and taken to South Georgia Medical Center where he later passed away. His identity has not been released and the search for the suspect or suspects who committed the crime continues.

Charges of reckless conduct could be filed against an Albany mother who left her 8 year old daughter and and young son home alone for an extended period of time. A family member stopped by their Patrol Drive home twice and found no adult present. She dressed the children and took them to her home. The kids were reported missing and a search was launched and when the unidentified family member became aware of the search she took the children to the Law Enforcement Center. The mother of the children is identified as Barrica Anderson.

Locals gathered last night to remember those persons who were killed or wounded in the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida. The event was hosted at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church by South Georgia Pride and One The same South Georgia.

A 16 year old girl has died as the result of being shot in downtown Oakland, California, and three others were wounded. The victims range in age from their mid-teens to early twenties. The incident occurred during a vigil for a drowning victim who died last year.

BMW is recalling 622,000 SUVs worldwide because the child seat anchors may become damaged and won’t hold the seat properly. The recall covers certain X3 SUVs from the 2011 to 2017 model years, as well as some X4s from 2015 through 2017. It includes nearly 189,000 vehicles in the U.S. BMW says in documents posted Tuesday by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the SUVs have anchor bars for child seats that can be damaged when people use European-style child seats. BMW said most child seats in the U.S. have flexible Latch connectors and do not cause the problem. The recall is expected to start July 12.

Doug Howell has been named the interim Superintendent of Schools in Colquitt County. He takes his post as of July 1st. Members of the Board of Education unanimously approved his selection.

The search continues for a 2 year old child who was dragged into the water by an alligator near Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Orlando. The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The child’s father wrestled the alligator in an attempt to free the child but to no avail.
