Cook High grad struck, killed by train

COOK Co. – A recent Cook County High School graduate and United States Marine recruit was struck and killed by a train Wednesday.

Shortly after 5 p.m., Jacob Fisher, 19, was walking on railroad tracks in Cecil while wearing headphones.

Fisher’s family will hold a candlelight vigil for Jacob on Saturday near the tracks where he was killed. The vigil will begin at 9 p.m.

Family members have also established a GoFundMe page to help raise money for funeral expenses.
