LOWNDES CO. – Double lane closures are scheduled two days this week on Interstate 75 North to allow Georgia Department of Transportation crews to install new overhead welcome center signs.

The lane closures will begin south of Exit 2/Bellville Road and ending south of Exit 5/Lakes Boulevard.

The welcome center, located between Exits 2 and 5, has been closed for renovations since Oct. 22. It is scheduled to reopen June 27. The signs will be uncovered, but the entrance to the welcome center will remain barricaded until the reopening date.

The lane closures are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, June 20 and 21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lanes will reopen as soon as installation is complete. The installations will be rescheduled if it rains.

On Monday, the inside (left) and middle lanes will be closed. On Tuesday, the outside (right) and middle lanes will be closed.
