Valdosta police investigate Monday morning shootings

VALDOSTA – Valdosta police are searching for a suspect after two victims were shot early Monday morning.

At approximately 2:08 a.m., the Valdosta Police Department responded to the 600 block of East Hill Avenue in reference to a reported shooting, said VPD Capt. Kari Williams.

“One victim was found on scene and taken to South Georgia Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his lower left leg,” Williams said. “A second victim was found to have traveled to a hospital in Adel. The second victim sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg. Both victims are in stable condition.”

Investigators believe the shooting was the result of a dispute that occurred at a local club earlier in the night. Investigators also believe both victims are not being forthcoming regarding the incident.

Both victims are from Sparks, Georgia.

The Valdosta Police Department Persons Crime Unit is currently investigating this incident.
