LHS graduation relocated due to weather concerns

| May 20, 2016
From Lowndes County Schools:
We are looking forward to our Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2016 on May 21, 2016, at 8:30 a.m. at Lowndes High School.  Certainly, our first concern is the safety of our graduates and attendees.  After consulting with several weather sources as well as Emergency Management personnel numerous times throughout the week, the Commencement Ceremony will be held in the Lowndes High School Gymnasium due to the probability of thunderstorms on Saturday.
Graduates will receive four (4) tickets at the conclusion of graduation practice this afternoon.  The doors to the Gymnasium will open at 7:30 a.m.  Everyone, including children, must have a ticket to enter the Gymnasium.  We are asking attendees to refrain from bringing air horns, balloons, posters, signs, etc.
For those wishing to attend graduation on our campus but do not have a ticket, classrooms will be available in the building to view the ceremony on projection screens.  Additionally, the ceremony will be streamed live via the internet from the Lowndes High School website at http://lhs.lowndes.k12.ga.us/

Four tickets? So which set of out-of-town grandparents get to sit with the parents? Really? With VHS & LHS having different days for the ceremonies, couldn’t these be held at a bigger auditorium like VSU?
