VALDOSTA – Two juniors from Girl Scout Troop 40511 of Valdosta have earned their Bronze Award.

Madeline Mabry and Emily Withers built, painted, stocked, and organized shelves for the pantry room at the Coastal Plains Building downtown. The shelves can hold nearly 4,000 cans.

Mabry and Withers spent 20 hours working on this project.

This is the highest award a junior (4th and 5th grade) girl scout can receive.

“We are so proud of these girls,” said the leader of Troop 40511.
