Valdosta house fire displaces three

VALDOSTA – Three people have been displaced following a house fire on Lausanne Drive in Valdosta Wednesday evening.

The Valdosta Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 815 Lausanne Drive at approximately 6:25 pm on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, fire personnel found smoke coming from the attic and flames on the outside of the home. Most of the fire was located on the exterior of the structure, and firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.

Although fire damage was contained to the exterior of the structure, there was smoke damage to the inside of the home.

During VFD’s investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical shortage at the power meter.

Total damage to the home is estimated at $15,500.

The Red Cross was called to assist the three occupants that were displaced by the fire.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported by the occupants, firefighters or civilians, reports .
