Lowndes County school bus struck in accident

VALDOSTA -A Lowndes County school bus was involved in an accident on North Valdosta Road Tuesday morning.

The bus was headed to Lowndes High School, travelling west. The bus stopped due to traffic and was struck from behind by a blue SUV crossover.  The SUV was then struck from behind by a red pickup truck.

Six students indicated they needed medical attention and were transported to the Emergency Room at South Georgia Medical Center where they were treated and released to their parents or guardians.

The drivers of the SUV and the truck were also transported to SGMC for treatment.

Damage to the bus was minimal, according to school officials.
