People have been talking for a while about replacing Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill, and finally putting a WOMAN on some of our cold hard cash.

But then Hamilton got a weird surge of popularity thanks to the Broadway musical “Hamilton.” That and the fact that Andrew Jackson is on the $20 bill, and Jackson was horrible to Native Americans.

So now, it’s official. Jack Lew, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, just announced that Harriet Tubman is going on the $20 bill. She was chosen over Susan B. Anthony and Rosa Parks.

Andrew Jackson is going to be moved to the BACK of the bill, maybe riding a horse outside the White House. And Hamilton will stay on the ten.

Lew actually said the musical “Hamilton” WAS the main reason for the switch. Quote, “The show has certainly caught people’s imagination, and I think it’s a great thing. To be thinking about American history, that’s what this was about.”

The new Harriet Tubman $20 bills should be designed by 2020, and the Treasury is going to push the Federal Reserve to get them into circulation as quickly as possible.
