In Other News: A Man Asked a Cop to Jumpstart His Stolen Truck

| April 8, 2016

A cop outside Port St. Lucie, Florida was responding to a possible break-in around four in the morning last month. And there was a truck parked outside the place, so he started running the license plate.

A 25-year-old guy named Gordon Raymond was driving it. And apparently he didn’t have anything to do with the break-in.

But he walked up to the cop . . . told him he was stranded because his battery died . . . and asked if he could give him a jump. And that wasn’t the greatest idea . . . because it turned out the truck was STOLEN.

When the cop asked him where he got it, he said he bought it on Craigslist. But he eventually admitted he was at a bar with his girlfriend a few days earlier . . . didn’t have a way to get home . . . and saw it sitting in a church parking lot with the keys inside.

He said he decided that stealing it was the best option, and admitted he’d also been driving it to and from work for the past few days.

So now he’s facing charges for grand theft auto.
