Nation’s Elite to Compete in First Federal Southeastern Collegiate at Kinderlou Forest

VALDOSTA – Valdosta State is set to welcome 12 of the nation’s top 25 teams to Titletown, USA when the Blazers host the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga.

Of the 18 teams competing in the 54-hole event, six make up the seven best teams in the country, according to the most recent Golf Coaches Association of America Division II poll. Furthermore, nine teams rank among the top 15. Saint Leo currently holds the No. 1 ranking, while West Florida, Nova Southeastern, Barry, Florida Southern, and Lynn all hold position at No. 3 through No. 7, respectively.

Teams also ranked among the Top 25 that will play in the tournament include Flagler at No. 11, along with Gulf South Conference foes Lee at No. 13 and North Alabama at No.15. Georgia Southwestern stands at No. 16, while Florida Tech falls in at No. 22 and Columbus State holds the No. 24 position.

Valdosta State, Georgia College and State, Delta State, Armstrong State, Lander, and Rollins make up the remaining teams scheduled to compete in the upcoming tournament.

The 2016 First Federal Southeastern Collegiate will feature 18 holes of play each day beginning at 8:21 a.m., with groups teeing off at both the No. 1 and No. 10 holes. Tee times will begin every nine minutes, with the final groups each day going off at 10:36 a.m. Monday and Tuesday tee times will be determined by team and individual rankings after the previous day of play.
