Blazers Wrap Up Bobcat Invitational in 17th Place

EATONTON, Ga. – The Valdosta State golf team closed out the 2016 Bobcat Invitational with a 17th place finish after teaming up for a third round score of 34-over 314 during the final round at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee in Eatonton, Ga. on Tuesday.

Chris Rogers closed out the tournament with a 7-over 77 round, which placed him at 9-over 219 overall for 16th place tie on the individual leaderboard. Matt Anderson finished tied for 69th place with a 24-over 234 effort, and David Hobby rounded out the Blazers’ top three performers with a 26-over 236 finish for a tie in 77th place.

The Lynn Fighting Knights took home the tournament win with a team score of 24-over 864, thanks in large part to Jose Andres Miranda, who topped the leaderboard with a score of even par 210. Florida Southern’s 33-over 873 score placed them in second place, and Barry ranked among the tournament’s top three teams with a 34-over 874 finish.
