The 66th Annual Ham & Egg Show and Sale concludes today

VALDOSTA – The 66th Annual Ham & Egg Show Tuesday at the Lowndes County Civic Center marked 100 years of shows in Georgia.

Lowndes County is the only county in the state that continues to hold Ham & Egg Shows, which began in 1916 as a way for farmers to educate others on meat preservation methods.

Presentations on back yard chicken health was presented by Dr. Claduly Dunckly,  University of Georgia Poultry Specialist.

The event continues Wednesday with judging and the sale of eggs and ham after lunch.
