Severe weather outbreak kills at least 3

At least three people have died, and five tornadoes were confirmed as a powerful storm system swept through the south.

A likely tornado ripped through a Convent, Louisiana RV park, according to reports from the Associated Press. At least two people died, and 30 were injured. Authorities are still searching for people they believe are trapped under debris.

Two tornadoes were confirmed in Mississippi, according to the National Weather Service. Officials in Lamar County confirmed that a mobile home resident near Purvis died.

A Florida twister crossed Interstate 10 in Escambia County. Several cars and a tractor trailer were flipped on the Escambia Bay Bridge. Twenty-four units of an apartment complex in Pensacola have been destroyed.

Lowndes County and its surrounding areas were under a Tornado Watch until 6 a.m. Wednesday. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 6 p.m.
