Police, citizen rescue trapped woman from burning car

ALBANY – A woman suffered injuries early Thursday morning after her car struck a tree and she became trapped in the vehicle as it caught on fire.

At approximately 12:15 a.m., the Albany Police Department, Albany Fire Department and EMS responded to the 1200 block of West Highland Avenue in reference to a 23-year-old woman whose care caught on fire after a collision.

Three officers and a citizen pulled the woman from her car. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, reports .
